This tool is a joy to use, and makes measuring valve shims quick and easy. 

The 100% analog snap micrometer features sturdy metal construction and is the closest tool we've found to the factory Alfa Romeo valve shim micrometer at an affordable price. It allows you to simply retract the upper rod, place the shim in the anvil and allow the upper rod to close on the shim. The precise gauge will allow you to easily differentiate the small .025mm increments used on Alfa Romeo valve shims. Works for both 8m and 9mm shims. Whole millimeters are denoted on the small inner dial, while decimals are shown on the large outer dial. Plastic storage case is included.

Note: For accurate measurements, shims must be clean and free from grease or cosmoline. We recommend allowing the gauge to "snap" hard, then measure shim thickness.
